Bill Abbott is a poet and performer who has been involved in the Poetry Slam since 1992. He documented the Southern Fried Slam scene from 1992 to 2000 (in a book, yo). He is also the “founder” of the Rust Belt Regional Poetry Slam. He hosted Southern Fried 1997, Rust Belt 2000, and Rust Belt 2001. He is also widely published.
